Well I do believe that I will start my new years resolution tonight with some Peterson's irish flake in my bewlay churchwarden. I will be sitting at work for 6 hrs working on a new razor I picked up, luckily it doesn't need much sanding, and I believe I have some scales that will fit it, so its all good

Today it is Balkan Delight from an estate no-name freehand. I bought this pipe for my birthday, and it will definately be a dedicated latakia pipe-- the minute I got it into my car, it smelled like a tire fire.

one pipe for 2 days... My son was married yesterday and in the running around I followed my wife and noticed only one brake light was working. :-[ I had 1/2 a bowl while replacing them in sub 0'F temps. After the wedding {today} I finished it and have no pictures because I gave the tin [plumcake] and a pipe to a young friend.

    Plan Bravo...

(for all you New Year's Resolutionists)

. Take a vintage cherrywood Ropp pipe from the antique store with remnants of 'different' tobaccos from past, interesting nights,
. Take three or four cigarette buts from the ashtray on the outdoor table from New's Years Eve; nicely softened from Adelaide's recent moist, humid weather
. Squeeze the tobacco from the butts into the pipe
    . Smoke

Still adhering to the 'No cigarettes from now on Resolution' yet still imbibing...

Geez Carl, I see you're getting there, but I don't think you've fully grasped the concept quite as yet. You need to give the new(to you) pipe a decent cleaning and de-funking and then stuff it with PIPE tobacco...Of course you can just leave the pipe in it's used state and continue to scrape your dumpers into it, but that would be an ill way to treat a nice ROPP. Made in France if I'm not mistaken. Nice pipes.

Yeah no you're right. A bit feral. Cindy is cross with me; she's over the 'But it's the holidays' excuse.

In a fit of boredomenaciousness I fixed the split in the bottom of the ROPP with some Plum wood from the tree out the back...
Maybe some clay to completely seal it?
