Stem savers are almost unknown here. Never seen them available at the local shop. But i know that those who who use them make theirs of heatshrink tubes. You know the thing that's used to protect electric solderings etc. It's cheap: 1 meter costs about 1 € and that would be enough for 100+ pipes. Sits 100% tight, doesn't slip, thin, sturdy and easy to remove (now that i think: comes in multiple colors for those who want to look like hard-core individualist or bohemian ). However, i've never tried even black ones.

Inspired by the recent pic of Mick, here's my Navy beret. I used to have also green (Jaegers) and blue (UN) but upon joining the navy i gave them to my kids. Haven't seen ever since so probably they are long gone lost

And my late friday eve home coming pipe. JF Germain's Rich Dark from Oldenkott. Piper Wit wheat beer from the local Sveaborg brewery.
While i've heard that it's quite warm weathers going on in Australia now, we are back to normal winter weathers. This week at work the average temps were -25 C (-13 F) to -35 C (-31 F) and windy 'enough' at sea so i wouldn't mind any colder. Actually, bit warmer would be nice.

Why the hell you are not a photographer is beyond my comprehension ...but you got the knack for it. Like the color of that pipe stem too.

I wish that I could show my view as good as others but if I was perfect I wouldn't hang around here!

This is not a Beret but it is my current hat. It was free so the price was right. [A Cyprus Cedar if I remember right.]

Ficklin Port. Good stuff. Check out a Solera. I may be drinking molecules from 1946. [When it started]

It is not Dunhill Flake but A Slice of the South in the tin. I like the size because it fits in the breast pocket of my coat good. RECYCLE

I got the Falcon yesterday and it is very interesting. Worth further exploration.

My Zippo is lit to add to the ambiance.

I gave away my slouch hats in similar fashion. Sort of regret that a bit now, but I have an old army mate who said he would 'acquire' one for me. I just need to supply my own unit patch and hat badges. Glad I managed to hang on to two of my old hat badges, they're unobtainium for those no longer serving apparently. And I have sourced a unit patch, now I just await the promised KFF1 (or 2 as the case may be) .

Today is was a nice sunny day with -28C (-18 F) but no wind at all. Perfect for a sunday walk with wifey. And not only human but also some other creatures semmed to enjoy the nice day. Had some Erinmores from estate Erikssen pipe. Just a cell phone pics.

I see the cold weather has made it over to your side.

Nice day here to work on my sons truck. 39'F Replaced the heater fan resistor. What should have taken 15 minutes turned into a 2 pipe job!
