Lucky me! I got a smaple from a friend from the Finnish pipe club: McConnell Black Parrot.
I was bit sceptic because the name reminds me of something like Juicy Fruit or such candy bomb. I was wrong, as usual.
This is a decent Va/Per tobacco with no added artificial candies or fruits. Even Per is almost nonexistent. Just a hint. Medium strength.
Washed down with a bottle of Żywiec. An excellent combination.
I surely have to order this tobacco few tins more.

Thanked: 45Tonights smoke is Jack Knife Plug, in it's big rustic Autograph 4. I love this tobacco. I'm a sucker for good Red VA's, and they shine in this smoke. Followed up w/the nuttiness of the Kentucky, and we have a winning combination. Full bodied and very satisfying, w/out being a NIC bomb. Yum! Thank you, Mr. Pease!

Thanked: 1160Having a bowl of that Boswells Northwoods. Just got a little sampler from IamStr8ght. Very good stuff...Nice and mellow not peppery. And thumbs up for the texture. A lot like FrogMorton, I'm a fan of flakes, chunks and bits. Real strong Lat scent to it (unburned). Definitely rings pleasantly true to it's name. Thank You Str8ght !

Thanked: 101Burning through some Orlik Golden Slice right now in a new basket pipe from the local. It looks like a mini church warden. It is dark rusticated and says "Italy" and "Baby" on the shank. It is small, which goes with my fascination with all thing miniature and also because these Virginias have a tendency to kick my butt in quantity. Also bought my younger brother a MM cob and an oz. of "Yorkshire" (1Q). He is a 2 pack a day guy and would rather see him on the pipe.

Thanked: 983I saw an old picture the other day, of Custer and a few of his troops lounging back in a camp. Of the 10 or so blokes in the photo, I think only one didn't have a pipe in his mouth. Such a pity it isn't as 'popular' today as it was then.
