In a pipe mood this morning. Normally when it starts to get hot most of my vitamin N is ingested as dip but this morning, I just felt like a good codger burley and a cup of coffee. Prince Albert in a Peterson Kinsale

Saturday evening pipe & beer while getting ready for the game of the night: Eng-Ita football.
Tuarekh from G.Jensen POY 1995. Ã…landisk beer, brewed with medieval recipe and scented with honey. Good stuff.

Sorry off topic. Nice pic of your family relaxing.

Guess i've posted these before but here's mrs Sailor back 25 years (or so) ago. In front of our first house and doggies (r.i.p.):

Nice family pics Sailor and SMJ. Last night's 1792 Flake almost put me off piping for good. This morning I was seriously contemplating getting rid of all my pipes and tobacco. However, by the end of the day, and after dinner out with my son, I loaded a bowl of McClelland's Wilderness in the Pete, and had a nice long delicious smoke. I may revisit the 1792 stuff in a few years.

    Great pics tomi.
Funny how dog's become part of the family. St8ght. Yeah 1792 is some strong stuff. But great flavor

Was it tightness in the chest, lightheadiness or did you just need to lay down and take a nap between bowls I don't mind 1792 but doubt I would want to smoke it much more than every once in a blue moon. For me it's not so much the fact that it's a really stout tobacco but occassionally it imparts what I can only describe as a kerosene type aftertaste. In my experience probably not a great summer time choice (indeed some folks never take to it).

I felt fine, it was the taste during and after the smoke that turned me off. Kerosene is a good description. It was the first time I just wanted the smoke to end. Maybe I will give it a try in late December!

Oh yeah totally forgot my POTD entry:

G&H Happy Brown Bogie (sliced) in an old Kaywoodie Super Grain. A vitamin N power bar from hell, this is typically an evening smoke for me, even a small bowl leaves me prettty, uh, relaxed.

This really would be a good crossover blend for guys who like really full bodied cigars. Also an idea choice for days when you plan to only smoke a pipe or two. It works best in small or medium bowl pipes.
