For the past few weeks we have been trying to reach our family members via phone or email with no response. They used to work here in Finland but moved back to Kiev as the orange revolution broke out about 10 years ago.
With the current Yevromaidan uprising and with the death toll of almost 70 yesterday my wife was almost sick for worrying so much.
However, got an email yesterday evening and they are fine and well. With the current armistice i hope everything will be fine.
I'm not about to say anything about politics, just so happy to hear our dear friends are fine.

Now it's time for some Balkan Delight from pre-rep Pete. And a bottle of beer too.

Sailor, how do you like that Balkan Delight? I've been smoking it quite a bit lately, to my taste, the amount of perique in it is just right-- I like the kick it gives.

It's pretty tasty. Reminds me of Old Dublin with the hint of perique. I think it is better in a pipe with larger bowl, not the small Pete i just smoked. The taste gets deeper with the larger bowls until the end. One of those blends that are available in local b/m store.

HEY: i guess we are about to see Finland-USA ice hockey bronze game tomorrow. You're welcome!

Thanks. If you've watched news and media from Ukraine lately you know they are living through tragic times. Almost like war zone. People are dying as we speak now. I hope the peace stands in Kiev because that is what everybody hopes. Many people here have friends or know Ukrainian people so it's been such a big issue here. Maybe not so much on the other side of the pond.

I noticed the same thing, I like to smoke it out of my big Peterson Meerschaum.

As for the game, it should be a good one. I just really dislike losing to Canada at anything, let alone hockey.

Guess there's extra emotional charge between USA-Canada games. We have ours in anything related to Sweden.
Hope we have a good game tomorrow! I think we might go to local with wifey to watch it from a big screen.

You are right, there are strong and direct reasons for your concerns... We are concerned with the situation in Ukraine as well... I think it is something that affects everybody in one way or another... Let us hope things get better and suffering ends soon...
