I put the Champion away for a few days but took it out again this evening. A different day and perspective and it didn't take to long.

To celebrate I put some Prince in a small basket churchwarden. I have to leave soon to check out a local bee keeping club and didn't want to take to long.

I dabbled with bees in high school and decided to try again.

You'll have to let us know what all the buzz is about

I have thought about keeping a hive, but I can't seen to get the wife on board...

I agree it is cool! I have often thought about trying again over the years.

This is an example of something I didn't know about in the 70"s. They arrived in the US around 1987....... Thats some of the buzz I am interested in.

My wife is allergic to bees but backs my oddities and liking to learn things. {Especially if she can get some honey!] It started with a new coworker who is into bees and thinking about 1 hive. Much work to keep them inner city where I live but possible. The next closest choice is 60 at my camping land. I am not going to drive 120 miles round trip for one hive so I ended up with choosing 4.

The trouble with that idea and it brings the wife into consideration again is that I am not a big spender. I am maybe a little on the high side and am buying unassembled hives etc. But it is going to be around $500 US per hive.

I am thinking about starting a Bee/Honey thread if there isn't one here yet and to at least put a hint of keeping this on track....

Does anyone think that Dunhill Early Morning Pipe would work for smoking bees?

My last full day in Florida with my dad. Placing my 8 pound tobacco order with smokingpipes right after this post. It is being mailed to my home address and I will be there to take it from the UPS driver.

My second bowl of Bayou Morning already this morning in a Castello Sea Rock.

    Enjoy your day.

After a long break from piping I've been taking advantage of the great weather.

Monday: Sir Walter Raleigh in a bent Dr. Grabow
Tuesday: Full Virginia Flake in a Peterson barrel
    Wednesday: Crooner in a Meerschaum

Crooner was my first deer tongue blend and to be honest I didn't notice anything from it other than a lingering aftertaste. I also learned my generally low tolerance for nicotine is even lower right now. I couldn't get through half a bowl before feeling the nic hit from the Crooner. It needs to follow a big meal for me.

If it makes you feel any better,I had switched to a couple of lighter aromatic blends and noticed some of my physical issues disappear.

I just finished a bowl of 4th Generation 1855 in my Boswell estate. This was the first time I tried any 4th Generation and I really liked the way the relaxation just settled over me.
