Haven't had any Old Joe Krantz in a while, thanks for the reminder as it will be my next bowl.

My fat finger jumped me from page 1360 to 860, so if you see some new likes on old posts that is where it came from.

I figured you were just bored and looking through 1300+ posts.

I think I will use my Gaudy Bacchus for an afternoon break. I still carry that cheap Frost knife in my day pack and needed it on last Monday because i left my hunting knife at home and used it to field dress a deer.

An Ashton SG 4 (straight grain) Sovereign circa 1997, Had to get tins of Rum Flake cause they were out of bulk. Tried a tin of Bob's Chocolate Flake for the first time in maybe 10 years and I love the stuff. Got a pound on the way ........

Some Engine 99 in a Castello 33. Got my lab work back on the 5 polyps that were removed and all benign, but with pre-cancerous cells. If you are 50 or over, don't worry about the inconvenience of a colonoscopy, think of the huge inconvenience of not having one done. Done with my soap box.

Not really a pipe of the day post but to fit it in, some Bayou Morning in a little Black Sea Rock.

I'm thinking of selling my Jess Chonowitsch and have no idea of how to go about it or find an appropriate current value for it. I know what I paid 11 years ago and that is about it.

Any thoughts on how to proceed.

Here's a bad photo of it, it really is a fantastic pipe both in looks and smoking quality, just have never been able to feel comfortable smoking such an expensive pipe.

    Thanks.

Carter Hall in my Capri free hand. Got my six inch Subway meat ball sub for Veterans day, after which I built a grill and a shelf for the wife.

I bought this pipe from Tarek when he was with Synjeco in Switzerland years ago, IIRC. Traded it to a buddy of mine from South Carolina. Big time Castello lovat collector, among other pipes. I just got it back after maybe 8 years for 3 Ashton Canadians. At the time I bought it this was the only shape 75 Fiamatta (flame) grade I had ever seen.

It really was on the small side for my preferences. Fast forward 8 years and it is a perfect size.

    hi to all

recently i found a tabacco with vanille, which i pleasure to smoke but i think my pipe is bad quality; it gets hot too early (about 3 5 minutes), and the filter system is bad (balsa) quality. i'd like to have a new pipe, used one. but do you have any advise to chose ? i like the curved ones and as i smoke once about month while i rest it could be comfortable (as i read on net).

Could be your pipe, could be your tobacco, could be puffing too quickly and could be a combination of all. Over here, most pipe smokers do not use filters. Especially if your tobacco smokes a little wet they get saturated quickly which leads to drawing too hard and a hot pipe. Just as an experiment, try removing the filter and smoke very slowly, sipping the smoke rather than puffing away.

Pipe smoking takes time to master and finding the right pipes and tobacco's takes time also.

    Good luck and enjoy.
