    I enjoy Latakia blends but I will get sick of them if I smoke them too much. I too smoke Virginia's most of the time. Any iteration of a Virginia Perique and dark fired Burley will capture my attention. I like them too much and do suffer from tongue bite on occasion. Virginia flakes can tear up your tongue in nothing flat if you dont sip them mindfully. Hasn't stopped me from liking them though. If my mouth takes too much of a beating then I go Latakia and oriental because its a nice change and usually smoke so much cooler.

    I enjoy Latakia blends after eating. Doesn't matter if it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack. That is the usual time I smoke the stuff, and enjoy it most, though I've been known to smoke it anytime I feel like it.

    Savinelli Autograph grade 0. Hadn't smoked this in years until about an hour ago, with Dunhill Early Morning Pipe ;

    Once i enjoyed a full bodyed and taste balkan and latakia Now i enjoy more a Dunhill London mixture or standart mixture
    Or Peerson Old dublin - something a bit more light - latakia and virjinia .
    Once i addore Meridian and sextant of sir Gregory .
    Now the only obacco that remind me a bit of the sextant is Sam Gawith navy flake
    Now dark stoved virjinias with perique - man I love all of dark stoved virdjinia and dark fired mix and also enjoy good sweet light - Golden slice , Golden glow of SG Solani 611 perique flake or dunhill flake
    Those are good for morning smoke

    Had the pleasure of enjoying Pelican in a 60+ year old Tom Howard Rhodesian Scoop I restored. The stem took a lot of work. Started with a good soak in oxy clean and then endless finish grit sanding with coats of obsidian oil as I moved up the grits. The briar was taken down to raw wood, stained and polished endlessly. Briar and stem final polished with several coats of Renaissance wax. I began to wonder who Tom Howard was and am happy to say I found quite a bit about him. Here is brief description of this gentleman. : )

    "Tom Howard was a popular comedian and personality in the 1940s/50s, known for vaudeville stage and radio work. But he also was a skilled pipe maker. In a Popular Mechanic article from 1947 he is written up as the "Hobbyist of the Month, Tom Howard." He made pipes in his workshop outside his home in Red Bank, NJ. starting about 1939, and looks like into the late 1940's or later. He purchased briar blocks by the bag as well as stem blanks, and in his well equipped shop he hand crafted his pipes, in about three hours on average. He was a true craftsman, also specializing is intricate model boats, trains and brass canons, all built to scale."

    Just a little Bayou Morning in a small Castello Sea Rock. If I could only have one tobacco, this would probably be my choice.

    Some C & D Exclusive in a little Black Sea Rock. Just got back from my first colonoscopy and have been putting it off. Three polyps and one large one removed, so will wait for a call from the doc next week. Don't put off having yours done, this was my first and not bad at all.

    That is also what kept me from doing so sooner, it was not too bad at all. I did not eat much on Monday and nothing Tuesday. I think that helped a lot. The stories about it were far worse than the actual experience.

    A little Bayou Morning in a Sea Rock with coffee as I get ready for a rare day shift today and tomorrow.
