Love that smoky Latakia:-) Back when you could buy the original Balkan Sobraine that was the best blend ever made! Penzance is a very good Latakia blend as well.
My favorite two blends are a good Balkan(Latakia) that has some oriental and Perique. Number two would be a Virginia stoved and cured with some Perique.
If you want to blend your own the McClelland company in Kansas City has some of the best pipe tobacco made and they also have many tobaccos meant for the pipe smoker to blend their own. Here is the link:
McClelland Tobacco Company - Blending Components - Oriental, Virginia, Latakia, Perique

Thanks for sharing these pictures with us. It's a beautiful collection to mix the different styles of the tobacco.

Glad to do it. They are the only company I know that has a complete line dedicated to the pipesmoker who wants to create their own blends:-)
There are pipe shops in the UK and Germany that carry McClelland tobacco.

You guys finally convinced me to break out the pipe stuff. First bowl of the year was Treasures of Ireland Galway blend in my Nording pipe. 2 hours of pure sweet relaxation! Thanks for the push I needed. Here's a shot of my current stash.

    Default Tuesday Smoke!

Erik Nording | Shortcut To Mushrooms | Buffalo Trace Kentucky Bourbon

Tonight was by far my best smoke so far. The bourbon really compliments the smoke. I also noticed that as the pipe "breaks in," the smoke becomes more flavorful and enjoyable. Also was able to smoke the entire bowl with about 5 or 6 relights which is encouraging for me.

PS: I am expecting my new Nording any day now. Can't wait!
