Hey they're possibly cool (I'll have to check them out). I looked them up and came across this one, cool attire they're wearing...

That happens to me a LOT.

I get a letter, open it, and it says I'm a valued customer and they love me. Not that I should pay x dollars by x date or else...

    [EDIT]

See I'm thinking the line 'when we were young' IS about thinking back, but it's about the father son relationship; the son looking at the father and seeing himself as an old man and the father thinking back both at the same time. I think it's like a duel thing, a 'see both of them thinking at once' thing...

    [EDIT] [EDIT]

I think the "we'll grow young" line (rather than the repeated "when we were young" line is that thing you say when you're young "I'm not going to grow old and look/get like that, I know better than that"....

I understand about different interpretations I tried to find an interview with Angus stone about his thoughts about the song and although I could find many other songs, none about this one.

I looked at the lyrics and on the written page they are very disappointing. Not much there!

I still don't see any father/son connection. More like husband/wife. The old man is walking in the dark because of his broken brights. (eyes) He tells his wife, let me lust tonight and we will grow young. (Relive our youth.)

Just my thoughts which are no more right or wrong than yours!

Yeah, I'm worth a lot these days, especially if I was to be fully restored to original...

One my my favourite cheesy love songs! Some great harmonies, strong melody and even a decent guitar solo, what else could you ask for?

Climax Blues Band had some great tunes, but by the time 1980 rolled around (the year Flying the Flag came out, which spawned I Love You) they were putting out some real stinkers. It's too bad, really.
