I look forward to following this thread. Hopefully one of our Russian members has a female friend who has associated herself with neither a mail order bride service nor the mafia. Apparently, with these lofty standards, Nightblade is ready to make a love connection!

I tell you this though.....I have seen a few extremly beautiful Russian ladies and they are very alluring. That said though,I really find the culture fascinating.I really do think they got robbed culturally by the Soviets.

I also have a fascination with Russia. I am learning to speak the language... It's not terribly difficult to learn. Reading it on the other hand...

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Interesting as I have the opposite take on that.I seem to pick up on the alphabet better than the linguistics. But for me that's not saying a lot.....yet.

Well nightbladeShaslik is lamb, but a tad diff than the american type kabobs and they have to be skewerd on my grandfathers 100 yr old blades (shimparay)
Chicken noodle soup of sorts yes,but the noodles are handmade fresh (secret recipe)
Is two types of paskha, both made for easter, one is a yellowish sweet bread of sorts, has to be made in coffee cans to be the real deal (very complex)
Than you have sidney paskha (to die for) made with farmers cheese and citrone, takes about three days to do (that my wife will not make) but is an old babooskha in San francisco that will for a price
Be carefull about what you wish for my friend,Russian women are a diff breed of cat.

    Hello!
    As for entertainment ...
    There are night clubs, bars (even floating on a small-boat on the Volga), restaurants;
several cinemas, theaters of drama and musical theater, museums ...
In the center of town is the Astrakhan Kremlin -

As for games with the Russian cat - must be very careful, they can easily turn from a kitten into a tiger ...
In general, as well as all other women)))

About the straight razor in Russia.
We have people who love wet shave, have a website, but it can not be compared with the SRP.
SRP is a cool site. I like it here.
Straight razor shave, I do not very long ago, yet little experience ...
I have a few razors - Dovo Special 5 / 8, English unknown manufacturer, and now, doing scales for NOS Russian "Extra" 1961.
More recently acquired Joseph Rodgers & Son ...

    Regards

Talking Soup in honor of Russia......

Making a nice soup today in honor of Molokan and Alexander and Russia.Farmhouse style soup I made up.Parsnips, carrot, red onion,Barley,Kielbasa and mushrooms.I read that Russians were fond of mushrooms .It's turning out very nice.Having some nice black tea infused with a little Orange herbal tea as well in honor of my Russian friends.May not be 100 % authentic, but the thought is there fellas.
