I googled them. Very nice looking watches. Incredible reputation and yes a little pricey for a work watch, but I would seriously consider it for a special occasion purchase.

Don't be fooled by the reputation. Ball watch has absolutely nothing to do with the original Ball watch outfit that went out of business in the 1960s probably. The current owners just bought the name. As an added insult Webb Ball didn't know squat about watches. He owned the number 1 watching inspection service. The watches he sold under his name were all made by other outfits like Hamilton or Waltham or Elgin. Later on he just imported Swiss watches and put his name on him.

They are very nice watches though.

After my father passed away recently I received his favourite old watch, a 1980s Rado (jubile, with little diamonds for the quarter hours). I remember going out with mum to buy him that watch for his birthday.

I don't have a picture sorry, but it is one of those rectangular ones.

Anyway, my father was like me with watches - very rough on them. They get banged and scratched. He wore this Rado every day to work, there's not a scratch on the glass! It must be some kind of miracle material.

Very unusual looking styling, but it's growing on me.

Most of the Rado watches were made from Tungsten Carbide as I recall. it's very tough stuff and about as hard as sapphire. The crystal would be sapphire. I've seen old Rado watches 40 years old that looked like new.

I have five Ball watches and they all work flawlessly. I recently bought a Deep blue watch which have the T-100 tubes and wow they are much brighter. JMTC.

I tend to like the Dive watches....my newest "get" a simple Seiko, produced for the Japanese market and a favorite among Seiko fanboys, the SUMO Blue dial and bezel. I also have a SUMO in Black, a Seiko SKX007, and an Orange Monster. Probably will settle on one eventually among the 4 and it would likely be this Blue one. Would enjoy a Longines Legend Diver but I need to try one on at an Authorized Dealer first. My ultimate watch would be the Omega Speedmaster Professional and I will get one someday.

The Speedmaster comes in a million and one iterations these days. The original is the "Moon Watch". I used to have one. Unfortunately Omega pretty much doubled the price of all their watches a few years ago as did all the Swiss nameplates. I guess they got jealous of Rolex. It's a very nice watch though. I think the Aqua Tierras are nicer though and they have a better movement. if you buy get one with the Daniels Escapement.

    Sorry poor pic.

I recently got this watch restored by the local clocksmith. This belonged to my late father-in-law.
The glass was broken and the bottom plate was missing. So the service, new glass and the bottom plate was replaced by glass as well. Cost me about 120 €

I've no idea about the brand 'Kungsur' but it looked like a stylish watch so it was nice to get it back working again.
