Thanked: 58I'm tired of this 'non-argument'. No, you wouldn't have been incarcerated because you have better sense than to fire your weapon at other people in non-life threatening situations. How do I know this? I know this because you haven't ran others off the road. The same respect for life, or fear of consequences.....whichever is greater...restrains you from such criminal acts. I know you do not mean to offend, but it is this same mentality that gives fuel to those with the gun-control matches.

Thanks Glen, I think we should take it down a notch, However since its already out there I also would LOVE to see this article in newsprint,as some people have an agenda when repeating stories like this one, I for one don't believe it for one minute. It would have been in the news, or in any one of the reputable gun magazines,as they tend to print things like that if true,so they wont happen again. Also as I have stated a striker fired gun has to have all conditions ready to fire, and pushing papers on top of one does not fit the bill. I also have a hard time believing that a safety instructor would 1. leave his gun near children 2.leave it that way with one in the pipe, and 3. Would forget to unload his duty weapon, I and many others who are familiar with firearms UNLOAD their gun as soon as they enter the house. As a former peace officer that was the first thing I did for many years even before I had kids, its just a good practice and common sence. If by some wild chance this story has any validity to it my sympathy goes out the the child's parents. and I agree that he should lose his licence,as he would here in N.Y.
In my opinion there is too much that smells with this story, and I would love to see some record of it,but I doubt that will happen. Sorry to sound so cold but Ive seen too much bulls*it spread here in anti gun N.Y,too believe such an unbelievable story without any confirmation. One last thing, an off duty officer was in Madison Square Garden a while back and was showing off his new Glock to a friend, when he took the magazine out and put it too his head, however he forgot about the one in the chamber and killed himself. That made the national news,I think this would have also.Last edited by Grizzley1; 02-16-2012 at 04:55 AM.

Thanked: 485Funniest thing I've read in ages. "BUT, but, johnnystraightrazor and the guys said I COULD your honour"!!!
[apologies to johnnystraightrazor is he does actually exist]
...and Mr Deerhunter, you'll be in the army firing M60s, Carl Gustaffs and surface to air missiles while tossing grenades with utter abandonment soon. I know you're well versed with weapons, but playing with the really big toys is very very enjoyable. When you press that little red button on a ten million dollar SAM system to fire the ten thousand dollar missile you feel just a little bit in awe...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
