Thanked: 4Yeah, well the good thing about competing with you're carry guns is that you get a lot of practice with them. I usually practice with my XD .40 about every other month with about 500-600 rounds but it's still not enough. If I can find steady employment I'd be able to practice more regularly and more often. Just remember to practice with the same holster and gun that you carry instead of one that is more comfortable at the range.

I don't mind if I print, usually. In Utah there isn't a law that makes printing illegal like some other states. One thing I have noticed over the years, from open carrying and concealing both, is that not many people notice the gun. OCing sometimes people will notice, but not usually. CCing, even with a big gun or big holster, most people wouldn't think it's a gun. Unless they carry themselves and are looking for it.

Thanked: 4I'm thinking that my next gun needs to be a 1911 or a variant thereof, or go for one of the smaller compact pistols like a Kel-tec or one of those Taurus hammerless revolvers. I have a hard time finding anything for my XD that isn't tactical and/or clunky. Probably, not the best idea to carry with a fat gun like that. lol. Oh well, if nothing else it's accurate and reliable and that's all I really ask for.

Thanked: 1936That just gives you another reason for another pistol. All kidding aside, the 1911 is like the AR-15, there are a gazillion parts to customize it to exactly what you want. There's a reason it's still around and going strong after 100 years...it works & works well.
