Thanked: 498LETS GO PHILLIES!!!!!
They are absolutely horrendous this year with injury, a bullpen you can never count on. Gonna be a long season.
The only consolation is that the rest in our division arent exactly running away from us.

Thanked: 334Lifelong Pale Hoser (CWS) here (I blame it on Grandpa and Dad). Doing better than I thought they would so far this year. But hey, whoever thought the Indians would be in first place?!?

Thanked: 38Go Mets! Hopefully they don't collapse at the end of the season like previous years.

I was an Atlanta Braves fan as a kid. We used to go watch Hank Aaron and the boys in the old Fulton County stadium after lunch at the Varsity Drive-in, but I can't support any professional sports anymore (too much money and egos for me). I occasionally used to take my boys to see some local college boys play in a wooden bat league in the local park. Great, competitive ball by boys who were hungry, and would banter with fans sitting right above the dugout. Roasted peanuts and $5 admission (sometimes free)-what a great way to spend a summer evening.
I'm not knocking anyone who goes to the pro games, but what does a day at a big league game set you back now, with parking, tickets, beer and hot dogs? I'm really curious, and pretty certain that it's out of my budget.
Incidentally, the high school where I teach won the state championship in '08 after an epic season. I taught some of those guys, and would go to their games free as a faculty member. Very exciting.

Thanked: 1262Cincinnati is a very fan friendly place. They even allow you to bring a softsided cooler with sandwiches and bottled pop/water.
