    Thumbs up

Those look really neat and tidy work, terrific job.
I like the shoulders, I struggle a bit with that aspect.
I tend to leave quite a bit on the edge prior to HT though I believe Josh Earl and others go quite a bit thinner and get away with it.
What type of grinder did you use to thin the blade?
Be sure to get close to the finish you want before ht, it saves time later.

I have them at 220 grit right now and will be taking them to 600 as soon as the belts show up. I used my friend's all-weld (same form as the no-weld, but welded) grinder that he put together recently.

Great looking blades! I wouldn't want to go with one any thinner before heat treat...I had one to potato chip on me and it's a sick feeling. It was a 8/8, so I was able to take it down to a large 5/8. It's funny (not really) how if you "think" one may do something like potato chip, break, or so on, it always seems to end up doing it.

Your friend has a very nice grinding set up.

I'm envious of anyone who has access to a belt grinder.
I may be corrected but I'm sure you can't buy them off the shelf in the uk.
My options are to build one (havn't the time).
    Or get one imported $$$$$.
I suppose I could ask around on the British forums if anyone is clever enough to build one for me for a price.

Wow. I just came across this thread. I kinda wish I'm come across SRP back when this idea was first being bandied about, I'd have jumped on a couple of those blanks in a Montréal minute.

A lot of the steel companies offer water-jet services, however I don't know what they charge. Your imagination and pocketbook is the limit...

Well here's is one that's complete.
Have noticed things about the scales I'm not happy with but easily rectified.
She shaves, and shaves well, thank you Dave for the opportunity.
