I'd come but a transatlantic flight is something that imply won't fit into my budget for the coming few years. However if you guys ever expand to the euro continent I'll definately be there.

Same as LX. If I had the money to take a transatlantic flight to Chicago for the purpose of straight shaving...
Let's just say that my rotation would look a bit different from what I have now.
But it sounds like a great idea. I hope y'all have a great time.
The idea of doing something in europe is nice as well, but the problem is that the majority of our senior members will (probably) not be there as it will be they who have to go transatlantic.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

I would love to go to something like this, but traveling is not going to work out for me this year. Once my son is at least a year old, and my wife would allow me to go somewhere besides work. I hope you guys have a wonderful time. I look forward to attending events in the future.

Thanked: 21st Annual Straight Razor/Wet Shaving Convention
I would love to come, and take a booth to sell some restored straights. However, as an Ad Sales Rep, I have been to McCormick Place many times. McCormick Place is an expensive venue. They're a Hyatt accross the walkway (you don't have to go outside) and several other large chain Hotels attached to the convertion center.
Even at a packaged rate, these Hotels are expensive. If it's during the week and not a weekend, even the air fares to Chicago are high. The airlines do this to kill the business traveler.
I think a resort area may be able to offer a more econimical venue and increase traffic at the convention. Anyway, I would love to attend but Chicago is pricey.
