People drool over the TI damascus but I'll tell you I have one and a Thiers limited edition and in my book the Thiers Limited is a far better shaver. You guys better hope I don't decide to bid on it because no one outbids thebigspendur!

Until you have tried this razor you can't really have an opinion. Conspiracy theories work best when they cannot be discredited with direct experience.

It is an incredible shaver. All around it was worth every penny I paid for it. I will miss it and can only hope than when I have more money I'll be able to get my hands on one once again. If I was not strapped for cash there is not way I would part with it.

I bought it after I read a post, think it was by bigspendur, of how good these razors were. So yes, they are definitely worth the full price, so whatever it sells for on e-bay is definitely a bargain.

Hope someone here gets to enjoy it and report back on its value.

However, logic dictates that if time, effort and money went into creating these and at the time were of such high quality then they would have been sold then to recover the cost and make a profit.

Thus, it is fair to suggest that at the time they had much better blades available to sell.
The point your missing is that these razors were hand forged by the founder of the company. When he stopped forging them, these were probably set aside for a special purpose. Then the use of straight razors declined and they were not used. Now straight razor are entering a renascence and it is now profitable to sell them. Ray Dupont most likely had alot to do with their creation.

I don't care if you're ex mil, a knife maker or a thousand years old. Tone it tone and take your insults elsewhere.
You come in here with 7 posts and start talkin' smack when it is clear that you don't have a clue what you are talking about. What do you expect?

You didn't act like you were just curious or were trying to learn something. You posted a challenge to the validity of a fine razor all the while hiding behind a user ID instead of a real name. How 'bout you not be the forum charlatan, and then you won't get the insults.

    Laager,

With no disrespect intended, please post your background and knowledge base of expertise on this matter. You jump into the forum and present yourself as an expert. Perhaps introducing yourself and providing your background would help eliminate any issues here.

Maybe I missed something, but has it been stated or proven anywhere that these razors were intentionally set aside and not sold? Perhaps they wound up lost in the back of a warehouse.

I think the issue I have is that you jump in as a new member (I'm not going to presume that you are new to straight razor shaving) and "attack" well respected members here. Also, your post at SMF, does not earn any favor with me, especially since Lynn Abrams, the founder of this forum and a known straight razor expert, is aligned with the Maestro. I'm not looking to get into a verbal "sparring" session, just trying to understand where you are coming from. And common sense or none, your "attitude" suggests that you consider yourself an expert on this.
