So far I've just been a little on the sarcastic side. It won't bother me much to take it to the next level, Mr. Laager. Still no name, huh? How brave is that? Look at my signature on every post, Mr analyze. (What a nice root word) Gee, it wasn't very hard for you to figure out where my site was, and that I make knives and was in the military now was it? My goodness, my full name is here and there. And then you want to pretend you don't know it by referring to me as urleebird. Paa..leeze.

Here's something your no-longer-in-business persona needs to know. We are not here on this forum to provide evidence or convince anyone about anything. Especially not to someone with 7 posts. This community helps each other out with what we know or think about straight razors.

There are enough variances in viewpoints in these forums to make it a very valuable pot of information for anyone. There is certainly nothing wrong with dissent, but not in the way you did it... under the cloak of some mystical common sense while spewing antagonistic rhetoric. And you expect an extended hand in friendship after acting like a snot-nosed teenager? Common sense... because you say so? Yuh, ok...

Well, no. I think you're missing the point that at the time he was just a blacksmith. Young, inexperienced and not the well respected master he would become. A young fellow that had only just started up his own forge. A fellow in need of cashflow to support the undertaking. Not a person likely to set aside a substantial amount of product because it was good at that time.
Even though that just sounds like babble a person would make up on a school quiz, I want to know if this falls under the common sense category... is this evidence, or are you just analyzing? It is obvious that you are educated. My question is whether it came from Berkeley or not.

And I certainly don't know everything - - - it just seems that way to people who don't know squat. Replace squat with the feces of your choice. Randy is more diplomatic about these things. I don't give a rat's patoot about being nice to people who don't deserve it. Guess you know where you fit in with me, now don't ya?

Ahh. I think I just figured it out. You only came over here for the FREE razor giveaway.

    Laager,

I'll say it again. With your pious attitude, you are coming across as a "know-it-all". You state that these razors were "intentionally" set aside. All I ask is that you prove the statement. The fact that they were not sold proves nothing. Well, it proves that they were not sold.

Ray, I'm hopin' that you win it. I have a ton of razors and really wouldn't appreciate this one as much as someone else might.

However, you need to know that I've got a snipe bid in for quite a bit more than that. You may want to consider bolstering that bid if you really want it.

That's all right, my max bid is a little more than that but that's all I'm going. I just picked up one of your razors. The only bad thing is I have another month over here in Japan before I'll be able to get home to use it.

Plus I have a bid in on the Goldedge and might be in trouble if I won both.

Oh, a pathetic attempt to undermine the content of an argument with,... err..... nothing.

Then try helping and not being such a child.

Nothing antagonistic about it. All the antagonism has been from you. Every single bit of it. If you can't understand the content of what is written in plain English then it's not my fault.

Whom has been acting like a snot-nosed teenager? Mirror, Sir.

Numerous sources across the 'web. Note a convenient one from a commercial allay - here.

Numerous places. Some that required uniforms and some that issued me my degrees. So, real world and academia.

At it again. You're just full of the vitriol.

Yes, you make yourself quite clear; quite clearly immature.

Pardon? Pious? Because I use the English language and common sense? Because I suggest something that requires thought?

It cannot be proven. It can only be deduced and inferred by reference to common sense and business efficacy.

It's late 19th century. You produce 450 razors; a substantial investment in time and effort. To not finish them and sell them would require an intentional decision not to. You then just forget about them? You then forget about the time, effort and profits sitting there? That does not make sense. That is not efficient. All that is required is to find out why they were put aside. I have suggested a few reasons, including one which none seem to be interested in pursuing - namely that it is possible they were second rate to others produced at the time. I would have thought a collector might consider looking for other Thiers-Issard razors of the same year as a potential grail with that analysis.

However, all I see is people complaining.
Well, there you go. No, not because you use the English language. But because you have thus far represented everything you have said as fact. Not opinion. So far, you have only suggested opinion. I asked for proof. For fact. I asked you to state your credentials as an expert of that which you speak. You reply that you have been a businessman and have degrees. I am a businessman with degrees. That's not impressive. Until you can prove youself as an authoratative individual, please state that you are offering opinion. You've stated that you are a man of business acumen and academia, but have only proven yourself to be obstreperous. And now, boring. Please, present proof and fact, or retract your previous statements as fact and restate them as opinion.

I will not be retracting or restating anything. If you cannot accept the validity of the propositions I have made then there is little I can do.
    ObstrEperous.

I'm just asking for you to prove your statements. 'Nuff said.

No, but I never made any statements that I represented as fact. And the facts stated are not self evident. That should be evident to an educated man. Your statements are opinion. And that should be evident to an educated man. One thing I did state that is fact...I've grown bored with this. Present fact or state your thoughts as opinion.
