Thread: Straight Razors in Movies

the entire mini series of Underbelly Razor.. all about the underground of the 1920s when Tilley Divine and friends were out making a name for them selves. using straights to hack each other to pieces.. I don't recall which episode had a shaving scene but I am sure there would have to be one somewhere given thats what it was all about/stemmed from

There's the scene in "The Color Purple" where Whoopi Goldberg demonstrates about the most damaging stropping technique imaginable, just prior to being held back from cutting Danny Glover's throat.

What about the movie Barbershop where Cedric the Entertainer shaves the guy with a straight? I havent seen the movie in a while and cant remember much about his technique, but that scene is in there.

Did you see the sr shaving scene in episode one of copper? The way she hold it at a 90 degrees angle, i bet thats why he still have a beard right after.

I looked through this thread and didn't see anyone mention the scene in "The Green Mile" where the guard is shaving the guys head with a C Mon Blackie. Blade angle was pretty steep...

The Natural... Both coaches are shaving, one with a DE and the other with a straight. Never noticed it before.

Knowing why they were shaving him, I doubt poor technique would've been an issue....

Did you guys see Seven Psychopath? There is a nice straight razor scene (two razors in fact), but no one is shaving. ;-P

Does animation count?? I watched this episode of Archer the other day, and found this clip online, too bad there's not more to show.
