In 'Burnt by the sun' there's a nice looking Russian straight shown briefly in the beginning and the end of the movie.

One of my favorite scenes in any movie is when John W and Kirk D shoot Bruce Dern and the other dude. The exchange afterward was awesome, "Mine hit the ground first", "Mine was taller". Maybe the Duke shoulda extra killed Bruce Dern so he wouldn't have been killed by him in the Cowboys!!
Silence is Golden, but duct tape is Silver.

Thanked: 270Hello Dolly (starring Walter Matthau and Barbra Streisand, 1969). A barber tries to give Walter a shave and he keeps getting up out of his chair and yelling. When the barber harnesses him back into a chair he makes very superficial strokes before Walter's next eruption. Finally, Walter walks away from the shave unfinished and wipes the remaining lather from his face with a towel. That barber must have been using a rubber blade while shooting, otherwise it would have been an assisted suicide.

Not sure if this movie has been mentioned, but I happend to watch My Name Is Nobody, on old western with Henry Fonda. The opening scene includes Fonda getting a straight razor shave with what looks like an 8/8 Wade & Butcher. The barber (who is actually one of the bad guys) strops the blade on his palm, which is what I have done when out of town. Good scene, odd movie.

Keith Bearden's The Raftman's Razor premiered at Sundance in 2005, but it just went live on YouTube today for you to watch from the comfort of your own computer. In it, two nerdy teenage oddballs become wholly preoccupied with a comic called "The Raftman," in which a superhero does nothing but survive on a raft in the middle of the ocean for endless days, thinking one esoteric thought per issue and shaving himself with a pearl-handled straight razor.
