Team,
I didn't read through the entire thread, but one of the worst straight razor shaves in film has to beat the end of the movie The Avengers. After the heroes save the day and they are showing news broadcasts, there is one man in a barbers chair getting his beard shaved like Iron Mans. The barber is holding the razor at 90degree angle to his cheek.

Just got done watching Maximum Overdrive and I have seen this movie a hundred times and never noticed the girl traveling with the bible salesman carried a straight razor in her boot.

Thanked: 270I am always on the lookout for straight razors in the movies, even before I thought about using one myself, but do you know what surprises me any more? It's watching an old movie from the 40s or early 50s and seeing the lead character using an electric razor. Crossfire (Robert Young, 1947), Road House (Cornell Wilde, 1948), The Prowler (Van Heflin, 1951).
To keep my post on topic, in Crossfire, Robert Ryan uses a straight, and the guy Robert Young uses to get evidence to convict the Ryan character for murder uses a DE razor.
It might be worth noting that Robert Young (electric razor) is the police officer working the case; the DE user was targeted by the Ryan character as being a stupid Southern boy; and Ryan was blinded by his anti-Semitism when he killed a Jewish man.
The cop used the newest razor (electric); the guy who helped convict the murderer used the next newest razor (DE); and the bigot used the oldest style razor (straight). I wonder if that's intentional. It's really unusual to show three men shaving in a movie.
Straight razor shaver and loving it!40-year survivor of electric and multiblade razors
