Maybe, but maybe it doesn't matter in the end..
Has he not given you any feedback even on private messages etc?
I'm farely new myself and i must say that even though i read the forum even many times a day sometimes it still pretty hard to find posts where i could actually say much else than "Umm.. I don't know.." Maybe his just browsing trough the forum and looking for information to get a hang of this stuff now?

It doesn't matter so much as long as he's getting good use out of it and enjoying it.
No feedback whatsoever, surprising since we were in pretty regular contact before I sent the stuff. I thought we'd see a 1st shave post, or I'd get some questions via email/PM/etc, but no word.

Guys,
I've sent stuff to new guys on here several times and most of them don't post here much. Doesn't mean they're not using it. Some of the members here have been a member since this site opened and only post once in a blue moon.
Even if a n00b quits and doesn't pass the gear on, you're still planting a seed. A friend or family member may see the eq sitting in their house and get interested. Besides, what comes around goes around. If they're not appreciative, then some time in life they'll have to deal with the same inconsideration they displayed .
Remember, the reward of a good deed is the privilege of being able to do it.

giveaway
being somewhat of a newb I wouldnt mind seeing a honing giveaway sometime, maybe joe or lynn offer services to a lucky winner. I bought a couple of shave ready razors about 3 months ago, but havent used them in about a month because I could not afford to pick up a stone. Plus, it would help those who cant hone not put down the razor after getting discouraged. Maybe call it a giveaway for the shaver who is losing his edge.

well FUD if you want to give them a shot I would greatly appreciate it, if the generosity is still extended.

I'm sure it is. You can see from the photo in his sig the celebration after a successful honing session is quite robust!

Forgive me if this has been posted somewhere else in the thread. I can see that I need to send my soap and cream donation to Lynn....
but what is the deadline for Lynn to receive all donations....?
