Yup Frank already bought two shoulders. He got a smoker recently so was happy to volunteer to play with it again. I have a big green egg that works great too but I'm happly to let him have his fun. I'll be bringing coleslaw and beans and whatever else I think of.

At the Tomah, Wisconsin razor meet I was speaking with rolodave and he indicated an interest in hosting a razor meet at his place in Racine, Wisconsin this next September. I will be checking with him after this razor meet to see if he still wants to do that and a then set a date.

Here in Minnesota I am thinking of the next razor meet sometime in late January. I am also considering having a local knife club join in with us. Sharp & shiny things !

The date will have to be either the last weekend of September or the second weekend of October. Will start looking for a place to have it.

Sounds great , I really wanted my own here last month , maybe next year , the wife is doing well and we have adjusted everything for her so that she can manage now so am coming to some of these soon , I would be happy to do the smoking but my smoker will do 40 shoulders at once, it's kinda hard to haul it!! Ron just remember the slaw goes on the pork sandwich if you want true pulled pork!!! And to think some fine whiskey samples to finish out the day. Have fun guys. Tc

Bill Huff called today and said he will be attending. I have known Bill for 8-10 years from the razor forums and on Skype but never met him in person before. It will be good to finally shake his hand.

To all I was wondering if anyone could bring the stuff to finish a set of scales. I worked them down to what I want for shape. I have not been to a place in some time to pick up what I need to finish them. I just need to sand them out and make a wedge and pin it. I have the pin I need a set of the small washers. If anyone could help that would be great. Thank you

Other than washers, what else do you need? Do you need any sandpaper? I can bring pinning materials. I don't think I have any pre-wedges left.

I can bring sandpaper up to 3k and have micromesh somewhere. This will be an incentive for me to (try to) find it. I will bring washers along too.

TC, I did not know any specifics but I was sorry to hear that you could not do your meet-up but I am glad to know that things are getting better.

I had never had pulled pork ever until I started preparing for my Iowa meetup in 2010. I did two practice runs before the meetup both to learn how to make it and to find out what it was supposed to taste like! It turns out the Big Green Egg is awesome for pulled pork, but its capacity seems to be limited to 4, rather than your 40, butts.

For the meet-up tomorrow, I will be making coleslaw (to go ON the pork!!!) and potato salad tonight. I'll also be copping out and throwing cans of Bush's baked beans into a crock pot.
