The hot dogs were great Martha, thanks!
I ate raw fish tonight. Wow... that's all I have to say about that
Simon looked dapper today in his skirt and toting his man-purse
Personally thank you Glen for showing me how to hone a Hess, and Joe for working through the issue on that bent razor, and Chris for taking the camera (and Simon for looking out for my ever-demanding appetite)
Mark your calendars for next year guys. this year's event is several notches up from last year's as far as variety and number of razors, hones, and people, skill sets, brains to pick and Doc and Martha are as hospitable as can beFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Thanks to all for the video feed. I only got to hang out for about an hour or so, but it was interesting and informative. Watched Glen and Lynn honing razors and also got to see Simon giving a shave.
Props to the tech guys -- seemed to be a mixture of dwessel, sicboater and hoglahoo manning the computer/camera while I was watching. Whenever there was a question in the chat, it was asked on-camera almost immediately.

The event is still in progress. People are either traveling (if they had to leave early) or at the barbeque. Look for pics later.

The meet up was a blast, it was great to put faces with screen names. Thanks to Doc and company for setting up the shindig. Thanks to Lynn and Don for all of the goodies. There are so many nice people in this group.
It was great to talk razors and pick peoples brains.
Here are pics of one my highlights from the trip. It is Randy showing me his ultra secret method of removing a wire edge. I hope I do not break any honemiester codes by revealing the mango method.

Thanked: 40Thanks to Doc and Martha for putting this together, again. Thanks to Lynn, Glen, Alan, Don, Joe, Randy, for bringing all the awesome stones and honing everything in sight! I know I feel much more confident in my stroke after seeing and practicing with the masters!
Thank you to everyone that setup/maintained the live feed. I had some fun taking a turn with the camera as well.
Look forward to next year!

I will be working on photos today (5/8) and pulling together a website like I did last year. This year was DOUBLE the fun of last year! Just taking a look at the stuff that was laying around was incredible.
Here is my list of the top 7 things for me at this years gathering:
- One on one honing lesson from Lynn himself. In 5 minutes, I gained an immeasurably deeper understanding of what it feels like to hone properly.
- Two words: JOE CHANDLER. Joe if you're reading this, I am sorry to geek out but ever since last year, I have been in awe of your work. It was beyond cool to meet Joe and listen to him talk about making razors.
- All the sleeper talent on this site! Spazola and Randydance, you guys are making some ultra cool stuff and you need to be making it for sale!!! Oldblades and Randydance, both have an encyclopedic knowledge of razor manufacturers and hones respectively!
- The food! Doc and Bandit out did themselves this year and Asheville NC has some of the best dining in the southeast!
- The drink! If you like beer, Asheville is tied for the bredth and depth of its offering with Portland, Oregon. Cask conditioned ales, whole bars of Belgian beer, endless microbrews, and of course Old Speckled Hen on tap!
- The coverage! It was very cool to sit and answer questions for you guys in real time! Thanks Dave for all the hard work on this!
- All the Hones, razors, strops, brushes....too many to count. Everytime you thought you saw the coolest thing in your life, someone else brought something out...
I hope you make it next year!
