Well obviously did not make it. Funeral turned into a reunion of sorts. Got back about 6. Really sorry I missed it. Was so looking forward to this and seeing old friends.
Next time by golly.

Great time guys! Thanks again Jockeys, your and your wife were terrific hosts. These are great gatherings and I always come away with such great ideas and learn a lot from everybody!

Had a great time guys!
Jockeys - Thank you and especially your wife for opening your home to us! The soap provided a good shave last night! After I've used it a few times and experimented with it and uberlather, I'll let you know more.
Kenrup - Once again, thanks for all the info and the really nice give-aways. That Gold Dollar I ended up with was a really nice shave last night!
Thanks to EVERYONE else who contributed to the give-away items. Don't remember all of them, just specifically the razor I got that Ken had donated.
It was really nice to see some familiar faces and to make the acquaintance of some new ones!
Tony
Fritz - I had seen that video at some point, just did not remember it.

+1 to that! It was a lot more fun at jockeys, and thanks go to him for organizing it, and also the soap making and door prizes. The hone demos were great too, especially having Kenrup show me how to hone an old W&B 7/8 wedge that required a couple of tricks I had not known before; it's wicked sharp, and I've got to learn some new techniques to use it really well.
Winning a Restoration cert from Kenrup was also a highlight. I immediately gave him a Sheffield "Celebrated Razor" that he says is from the early 1800s. I'll post some pictures in the Workshop Gallery when it comes back.

Thanked: 2
I know, I am a little late with a response. There have been a few things keeping me from the computer.
I had a great time too and enjoyed meeting everyone. Since this was my first time, I didn't know what to expect. I learned a lot more in those few hours than I have on my own in the 7 months I have been shaving with a straight.
Thanks, Jockeys for hosting the event.
I went for broke the day after and shaved with the soap I made, the Gold Dollar, and the brush I won. It was a great shave.
Thanks to everyone who donated prizes. They were all great. I am already looking forward to next year.
