How's the planning going for the get together? It sounds like Undream is bringing a bunch of stuff with him. I will bring some hones and razors to add to the variety of stuff available for people to play with.

Sorry I've been away for a few days I am to working finally and have been working day evening and night for a few days. 40 hrs in 3 1/2 days 1 day to recoup.
Sorry to hear Troggie and Tuff2shave can't make it. Hopefully you feel better soon Tuff2shave.
The planing is going good. Dose anyone have a decent microscope they can bring. I'd like to check one out before making a perches of my own.
The other day I picked up some interesting refreshments to sample.

Roll call? who is still going to make it?
PS -- everyone should bring one razor that could use a new set of scales, and doesn't need a lot of blade work. I'm bringing stuff to make scales, but no greaseless compounds / blade restore stuff. Plan is to make 2 sets for ppl as door prizes.

I know I'll be there and the Ada valley Foods rep is going to swing by about 11:00 so we can pick what we want to through on the grill. He is also interested in using a straight razor now. So he will probably stick around for a bit to. I have Three kinds of Spirits to try out, Drambuie a honey- and herb-flavoured golden scotch whisky liqueur made from aged malt whisky, A bottle of Ginger Brandy, and a bottle of Sake. I was wondering what people where planing on bringing. So I can plan on what else we need.
PS Brad if no one else takes you up on your offer for scales I have at least 1-2 razors that need scales but I figure there will be takers and we will do a random drawing based on how many people are there.
I will also be adding either a safety razor from the golden nib with a custom handle or a badger brush from the golden nib with custom handle as a door prize the winner will pick between the 2 and get to pick from several types of wood I have and wether they want to turn the handle or have me turn it for them.Last edited by gandrw; 07-18-2010 at 04:26 AM.

Hi guys, I'm still in. I'll bring some beers to sample and root around for some turning blocks. If you want us to bring side dishes or any thing else just say the word. What time would you like to start?

10:00 am is the start time. And if you any one would like to bring a side dish that would be great. Probably something that can be served cold or room temp would be easiest or maybe some corn on the cob and we can though it on the grill.

I thought there where going to be 6-8 people but I kinda lost track, I've been working allot of hrs. day and night cutting concrete.
Yes I'm still interested in a kamisori, That would be really cool to take a look at them first hand. I got a custom non folder from C.Lewis (spazola) and love it but it's a western grind so I'm sure there is still a bit of a difference with the eastern grind.

Just curious. Are there any knife enthusiasts coming to the meet?
