I remember Ron saying two really funny things, but the only one I remember is, while looking at an edge under the microscope "Wow, that's really sharp. The image, not the edge."

I was looking at a knife edge in order to get a sense of the really cool small microscope someone brought.

I don't recall the name of the person who brought that scope, nor the name of the very unique scope. Can anyone tell me whose small red framed and brass tubed transmission microscope that was?

Edit: I was able to find the scope online. It was a Brock magiscope. It is a very elegant design and produces a nice images.

I think it was 32t's microscope.

Thanks for bringing up the subject of that microscope. I wish I had used it.
A scope with better resolution is always welcome.

That was a really nice and rugged scope. Thanks Ron, for figuring out what that was.

The time to start planning for a summer meet is now. That way more guys get a chance to plan their schedules.

The last week of May and first week of June are some of the big regional Razor Meets like Ashville NC and Mid Mo Razor Meet so we don't want to conflict with those.

What looks good is the first 2 weeks of May, the last 2 weeks of June, all of July/August/September.

Location is wide open. Should we start a new thread?

Yes that was mine. And to think I hesitated to bring it in and be compared to "fancier" ones. But in hind sight, I can see how it appeals to straight razor peope. KISS [Keep It Simple Stupid] A very basic minamilistic tool that does what is needed without frills, bells, whistles, and a little computer code thrown in.

    Hey Tim!
Do you have any more of the scopes that your wife rescued? I'd like to pick up one of them for my young nephews. I really like the elegant simplistic design of that scope. They just plain work!

    A suggestion,
I forgot to get it out at the meet, They are unbelievably cheap on the 'bay and available in 40 and 60 power.
The little 'scope is a lot less fiddly than the one which I had similar to the Radio Shack and other hand-helds.
The reason for it being less fiddly is that I can position and slide the spine of a blade along the fingernail of the hand holding the 'scope. That means that the thumb and forefinger hold the 'scope and allow the blade to be easily viewed.
Bye the way, this view was for a photo, I hold both the blade and scope nearer my eye in a similar positioning.

The 'scope is tiny but has sufficient eye relief that it is quite handy. About 4"/100mm to the eye and about 1"/26mm to the part being viewed.
It is nice enough that I ordered 5 more for my friends..Wet Shaving friends, that is!
    Respectfully
