It's getting very close to the razor meet and I have to admit to being a lazy bastard. I haven't been working on any of my razors as of late. Looks like I'll have to get my butt in gear and finish off those resto's.
This meet will be the motivation I been needing.

I've been lazy, too...rather wait and get some more pointers from the meet than keep pulling my hair out from frustration, LOL!

Borrowed a friends Norton 4k/8k stone. Figured why not try and refresh my blade as it has been tugging pretty good as of late and if I screw it up I can bring the stone and razor to the show and actually learn how to use it. Well the good news is I actually got my razor back up to a nice level for shaving. I think now I'll give my recent acquisition a try with the same goal in mind.
Realistically how long do these go for? Just found out I have a DB regatta same day but should be over by 3:00 PM at which time I would boot across the city just as fast as my Matrix can take me.

Past meets I've been at run until people have to leave. WNY meets are, for some of us, three day affairs. The NY/NJ meets have gone from about 1 to 7. It's a war of attrition... or we have to vacate the location.

Thanked: 6Ok, just for the record, can someone post the date, time and address where we have agreed to meet? I looked through the first 5 or 6 pages and could not define exactly where and when we were getting together.
I am free this Saturday and would love to make the trip from Waterloo. I can bring pretty much all my stuff so not a problem.
Cheers,
Sean

Thanked: 993Oh so close....
I'm planning on bringing a bunch of my tools and stuff as well, along with some Padauk, Bubinga, and Purpleheart. We can make some scales for fun if people like, and do lots of sanding! Rods, washers, nuts and bolts will also be on site for anyone who wants to peen or anything like that.
Does anyone have a tiny portable vice?

Thanked: 6Anyone interested in some Zirocote wood for scales, I can rip a couple of sheets from the stock I got last weekend.
Edit, how small a vice? I have a smallish one which I use but it does not clamp to a table, it is for a drill press. I could bring it if that will work.
Cheers,
