Try as I might, I'm not able to get out of previous committments. Will have to pass this time and hopefully there will be another meet before too long.
Thanks.

It will be a good day for sure. I got a ton of questions and want some visual inspections of my work to get a feel for where I am at in regards to being able to put an edge on my own razors.
Out of curiosity, will the tools be there to put some new generic scales on a razor? I don't have any supplies but would love to see the process. It should go without saying I'll pay whomever for the supplies if we are able to do so.

Maxi, some time ago I think you told me you had access to some large saws or tools to process firewood shaped pieces of wood into more manageable pieces. I was planning to bring some blanks of Russian Olive and some Black Locust, but my tools are buried under an accumulation of 'stuff' and I can't clear a space big enough to work the radial arm saw or planer, or even the band-saw (which I still don't have set up properly anyway). So. No blanks. But I do have a maybe 2 1/2' x 1' piece of Russian Olive and a small piece of Black Locust, plus a few 2' logs split into wedges of a wood I could only guess at. If you have the tools, I could drop these by. At the rate I'm going, I'll never get to make scales from them and they're taking up a lot of space.
I still don't know if I'll make it to the meeting Saturday. That gun auction is starting to look interesting.
I don't remember what project you were working on last year, but how did the Honey Locust work out? If it is suitable for scales I have a few pieces of it also.

Thanked: 993Mike,
I've still got access to those tools. Don't drop the wood off at the old address though....the new tenants might burn it in the fireplace! We moved.
The russian olive and honey locust were both used to make boxes for hones. They turned out amazing. I also used some of the Russian to make a small case for an EPD custom Kamisori-style razor. It worked great.
If the gun auction doesn't pan out, you know where we'll be.
