So, I'm in pretty much for sure. I'm a newb and so I'll be bringing some razors and the hones I just got so I can learn how to use them (Yes Glen, I plan on taking you up on your offer) So with that said where should I be looking to stay. What hotels are cheaper/close? Preferably one with a pool. I have never been to Yakima or a meetup so I don't know what I should expect here. Thanks
edit: I also would like to turn a brush if I can (never done anything like that before) and I have some wood I've bought to try and make some scales with I'll probably bring. Pretty much I plan on taking this meetup for all it's worthLast edited by funkemaster; 03-04-2013 at 03:08 AM.

No hotels are really close, but there are many with pools.
I don't know what you are looking for, but I know that these have pools:
Oxford suites
Oxford Inn (outdoor)
Hilton Garden
Clarion (outdoor)
Red Lion (outdoor)
Best Western
Quality (outdoor)
Holiday
I may be missing some.
You should expect a lot of razor talk including brand info, steel info, use, and practice. You should expect honing practice including instructions on how to use your own stones, use of stones that you've never seen (or heard about), and use of stones that you might never see again. You should expect shop time: we can turn brush handles, make scales, pin razors, learn finishing techniques, and even a little about razor making (I wish it were more). A lot of other business including talk, camaraderie, beers, wine, food, whatever.
Please purchase a knot and bring it with you before you arrive. I have depleted much of my supply recently. We can do quite a bit depending on time.
Could I get people to PM me regarding who wants to turn, who needs directions/address.
If anyone wants to help regarding food, drink, or anything please PM me. I also need to know of any food restrictions.

Okay, I saw that a date was considered 'set'. Is this 3/23, 24? Local Noobs asking - this is the best thing they could possibly do for learning.
