Unfortunately, I am interested in all of them. I have yet to use any of the French hones and would love to play with some of them some time, but have not been able to find one yet. I am continually fascinated by the variety of Japanese hones and Rodb, I will be happy to let you try a few some time.

Along the same lines as Glen, I have two, but only two hones, for which I have no use. Randy's had them for a couple of years but I'm in no rush for them to come back. Let's just say that not all "natural waterstones" can provide the perfect edge.

Overpriced stones. Hate them. Also, expensive shipping! First class mail international is a good choice my good vendors. Other than that, Acropolis. You can't hone on them, it's mostly marble. If only they'd make it out of Cretan stone... Still, looks nice.

Certainly younger by far than any natural stone around us If not, I would like to know your secret. Homo sapiens sapiens older than 200000 years, that's gotta be a thing.

I'll throw another stone I have no interest in. Personally it would be Escher/Thuringen's

I've heard nothing but good things about them but for $300+ for a labeled one no thank you. I am not interested in them at all, even the knock offs.

There are good deals to be had on eBay. Search for Thuringian hone and see what pops up, there is a fellow that sells from Germany and accepts reasonable offers.

Any stone that wouldn't be considered a finisher.

Actually, if I were to have to choose one finisher, it would be a Escher/Thuringian as they work on all razors very well. I have yet to overhone on a thuringian ever either & they are very versatile for sure when it comes to types of edges preferred.

Nearly every unlabelled stone will also do the job!
