The whole edge now looks like this the whole way across.
This is 500x Magnification (Supposedly) so shows up more than it needs to.
Under a 60x jewellers loupe the edge is perfect under this and after 2 shaves it is a little misshaped under this intence magnification and also bare in mind the razor wasnt stropped after the last shave.

Let me know how it looks.

Yup, the steel lacks temper to hold an edge.

That is not 500x, more like 60x. If you spin the focus dial the other way to the end and come back slowly you will get the high magnification, whatever that is.

On USB scopes, there are 2 magnifications, high and low each on either ends of the adjustment. Also try lowering the light brightness for better photos, angling the scope will give better contrast as well.

I just got one off ebay don't really know a lot about them. The magnification was set to full magnification. The low end is meant to be 60 but looks more like 20 lol. That's what I get for cheapo crap but I tend to use the jewellers loupe more than anything.

I have been tinkeringle with the light dial and it goes from one extreme to the other as for the angle for contrast, i hadnt thought of that one lol.

I'll shoot some pics of the dovo later and see what we make of that edge instead

Ok here is the DOVO one shot was at minimum magnification the other at about 250 (so they say)

Let me know what you think of this edge, looks like a good en to me and shaves well too. I did a few "refresher" laps on the 12k to get a slightly dull edge back to life.

OK I got my crox today. Loaded up my spare strop and gave the knife 10 passes. Liked what I saw so when for another 10 looked like a very nice smooth edge so had a shave and Wow what a difference it made. I was worried about over doing it on the crox so stopped at 20. Could I have done more or more to the point should I have done more?

Just to clarify, I did use a plain leather strop before shaving. The strop for the paste is a hanging leather strop but now I know it is worth the effort I'll be turning it into a paddle strop
