Yes it is. I was testing it for razors some time ago.

Nice! Was it a good one for razors?

    Regards

Being a Suita it was better as a pre polisher but probably ideal for finishing tools.
It was extremely fine for a Suita.

I don't have anything fancy here, just another travel/pocket hone from the Narutaki mine this time. Haven't used this one in a while, so I've decided to try and hone the Million razor on it from 1K. I am pretty close, but the stone is a bit tricky to use. It's fast and I know it's fine enough. I remember I finished my Henkotsu on it months ago, on clear water it gave me a very harsh edge, then I dropped back to finish on slurry and that was spot on. Now with this steel, I will need to play around with a few finishes to get it how I like it.. right now, it seems OK and many would call that shave-ready, but just knowing this little sucker, I get the feeling it can do better. The fun continues!

I am just starting my jnat journey but was inspired by the beautiful stones here to share mine. I am just at the beginning stages of learning and am so grateful to @aerdvarrk for his guidance and generosity purchasing this stone from him. I promise I will honor it, respect it, and learn from it.

In the picture are the tomo and komo nagura he sent with it and one of my Japanese razors (just felt it was fitting).

I hope I get this right- "okudo asagi" okudo is the mine/region and asagi is the grey green coloring?

Oh yeah- and the tomo has the most amazing evergreen scent! It is truly aromatherapy when I make slurry with it

Nice stones! That might be all you ever need, but maybe not the last you ever buy!

    Default New stone

Arrived today from Japan. It's a hard stone that cuts steel quickly with Atoma 1200 slurry.
    Further testing to follow
