I've gone a cheaper route. In the U.S. we've got a company, Plano, that makes boxes for fishing gear and other stuff. I bought a pair that can clip together and added bubble wrap. One side is almost all hones, and the other side is for tools, rod, washers, and razors/blades/scales/works in progress. I can keep my whole tool kit in this little box, and it takes up almost no space in my camper. In the hone side are two DMT plates, my Charnley without its lid, a Spyderco UF, one finishing coti and a couple of faster coti bouts, Thuri, slurry stones, Frictionite 00. When I'm actually in transit, I keep a strap around the boxes.

    The waterstones travel separately.

The last picture is at home, where the hones have more stylin' digs.

I just sold 4 of these type cases last week. I had been keeping them around after transporting some handguns about 3 years ago. The cases were taking up space and I was tired of moving them around the storage room.

I see this thread and just shake my head.
But,,, I have two other types of cases that are "Empty".

Thank you for this idea, Birnando. I will get started tomorrow and post pictures next week.

I like the part "bare necessities", only 9 finishers in the box

I promosed this photo a couple of weeks ago, sorry I'm slow.
    I copied Birnando's idea(thanks Birnando).

Included are just my razor hones used mostly; two slots are empty due to soaking, a Shapton 16000 & my PHIG. I have to tough up a couple in my rotation.
    Included are:
    Norton 220/1000
    Norton 4/8
Welsh Slate from the Penrhiw Home Quarry Mill, British Isles
    3 Line Swaty
Old White Arkansas, I believe ?(belonged to my grandfather, only reason it's in the case)
    DMT 325
    2 stone holders
    loop & tape

I left space for a coticule I will buy someday. I keep my knife & axe stones in old ammo cans for now. My barber hones in cigar boxes.

That looks a little suspicious to me. Where do you hide the fuses?

Great! As if I didn't have enough AD's to fight off....guess I'm picking up a Pelican case and making a new home for the gear lol

Well, if it wasn't mine. I'd like to see the face of the TSA employee as it slides into the x-ray machine with my Casio G-shock face up inside.
