There is not a real secret, sorry to tell....at the past 12 months i really spent a lot of time searching on the bay and somewhere else....so probably the time might be a big part of it....i still did not get to search thru Fleamarkets and so...but i like to do this more

After a quick search, I found this catalog for the currently produced French stones:

Got the package today, some detail shots for the interested. The colour of the special stone looks like a kind of metallic lightgrey with parts of green and blue.....

The sawmarks are comparable to the ones posted here already, interesting is that both sides show different sawmarks (one side rough ones, the other side fine ones)

    Sawmarks:

The razor which was included, removed the two nicks and honed it this evening....

Anybody saw this one up to date, looks quite interesting. No La Lune Label in the classical look, but its an old one and
the print in the wooden box looks like the print which was done in the instructions/advertisement of the scythe La Lune Stones....to explain further more i added a comparison of the prints...

It says "Extra Fine La Lune"....what might the Stamp AD12 mean ?

    Translation:
Manual: for correcting or setting the edge, start with New "Master Stone" (with petroleum), for finishing,
sharpening, [morfiler?] use the Natural Sharpening Stone "La Lune" with oil.

The Combinaison "New Master Stone" / "Extra Fine La Lune Stone" arrived today. Its a Big Size probably comparable to the "Pierre de L'est bleue" which was posted on another board.

    The size is:
    12,5 x 6,5 x 2cm

The First Stone is the New Master Stone which is used to set the bevel, though its not mentioned for what, so this seems not to be a combination stone made for razors in general. The material is not really comparable to any Carborundum hone i ever had in my hand (as there was the reference the labelled Lune Master Stone on another board).

...it has bigger particles which also seems to glitter in the light, the whole conglomerate looks glassy...

The second stone is a "Very Fine La Lune Stone" in a grey/greenish metallic look a like. It also has these slightly darker inclusions looking like short lines...is has the same sawmarks a shown in several threads beeing around for the French Hones / Special Stones....

As i got the smal "Special Stone for Good Razors" last week i can now for me personally confirm that these both stones are made out of the same material and must come out of the same quarry or region...

The interesting thing now is that for the first time there is given a historic price, i do not know from which date it is but writing with the supplier who had a company down the Vosges which was active between 1875 to 1972...
It is possible to delimit the timeframe when the stone was bought...my estimation is that this is between 1920-1950...

There is written in lead pencil 720 or 72 F...so we talk about francs but i am unsure if the amount of 720 might not be to high...

Concerning this combinaison stone its the first "La Lune" i have seen up to date which does not have the moon label which could be that this stone probably was sold in a certain time before the label was created....

So this example is in my thinking another step to further knowledge about these stones, so i hope there is more to come up....

I did a Video again for a comparison of this fine La Lune and the Special Stone for good razors. Its better to show the metallic look a like in a moved sequence then on still pictures...
