Point taken. Let me give you another scenario of personal experience with HHT. Factory edge bought by myself. Razor seems sharp passes HHT also seems to take arm hair off above skin level. I Shave it starts fine then quits after a few strokes also begins to pull miserably. I strop well test it again. Shaves ok then quits again rinse repeat. Get my drift here? What value did hht have in evaluating this razor. Not much in this case.

Whoever wrote that clearly missed the point of taping. This is the best, and most concise, explanation I know: http://coticule.be/wedges.html. So, taping can even have a detrimental effect, depending on the geometry of your particular blade.

Thanked: 3795Just a reminder...
in reference to Jimmy's comment about people getting a "pro-honed" razor and finding that it does not pass HHT, please remember/understand that an oiled edge will not perform well, if at all, on the HHT. A full stropping is the only thing that will remove all the oil. A little wiping with a tissue will not do it.

I was basically shaving off a burr or wire edge . I wound up resetting and making sure visually it had a Clean apex to the finish. My point being that sometimes these test have to be collaborated with other observations to be valid. Thats all im saying.
