Thanked: 90I forgot how incredibly impossible it is to raise a slurry on this one, but how excellent the shave is once you do.

On the hones today my two trusted servants the Henckels Pro Chef knives 8" and 6", been with me for more than two decades and performed flawlessly through the years, well they deserve a fitting edge before the Chrismas festivities begin, so they went back to a complete bevel set Chosera 1K Chosera 3K Chosera 5K, and finally the Snow White 8K, Wow! I swear If I stropped them they would give up a first-class shave for sure.

Honed up my brothers T.I Spartacus ,Half Hollow 5/8ths.
This is his favourite razor because of the edges it produces.
I took the spurred heel off, which I had created over the years.
Then honed it 1,5,10,16,Escher.
He should be please..

Today’s hones= Lily White and a Black Arkansas. This blade never touched a synthetic.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

Had a full session with this Dovo, when i received it in the edge looked like a comb as it was pretty jagged and the edge was rolled badly so killed the edge and did a bevel reset on a Chosera 1K then mid work was Shapton GS 4/8K and finish was a NN 12K followed with a Nakayama Kiita with tomo slurry and then linen/leather stropping

Finished up this Joseph Elliot on a vintage man-made coticule. This is one of my very best finishing hones - it gives such a delightful edge. I found this a couple years ago in the wilds at a barn sale and at the time I thought it would be inferior to my natural coticules. But I came to find out that I was oh-so-very wrong about that and it excels in both ease of use and edge results.

This Wostenholm Pipe Razor was touched up this evening on a blue-green Thuringian. Test shave will be in the morning.
