2 vintage German razors on the hones today, total bevel reset Chosera 1K 3K 5K, 8K snow White 12K Naniwa finished Suehiro Gokumyo 20K, I'm sure the owner will enjoy the edge I've put on these two.

Seeing the post above reminded me how lucky I am to have a fine shaving razor like that travel razor and a couple nice barber hones to touch it up with. Those 2 hones provide an excellent edge without a lot of effort.

Two Solingen's, World Master and Cowboy, came in today. They could pop arm hair but not the way I like so back to the Shapton GS 4k and 8k (both HC versions) followed by my Lyn Idwal finisher. Different razors now!

Friodur 72 1/2. Bevel reworked on 3k Chosera. Then on the bottom kan stone with DN. Cleaned the synthetic scratches very quickly, very fast stone.
Finished on the asagi with koma and tomo. Shave was clean and I didn't feel a thing after applying alum.

Took a couple settings to get the Tally Ho in but she took a sweet edge. Got pretty lucky it wasn't all jacked up for a wedge.
    Kuromaku 1k,2k,5k,8k finished nani 12k.

Test hone and shave on an old Tam O Shanter bout and what I think maybe the craziest looking Charnley Forest. The CF felt pretty much like my best CF in sharpness and a tad smoother and forgiving, but that is almost impossible to truly know without many more razors on it. Now that Tam turns out to be something different for me. Edge was sharp smooth, but felt like velvet and steal. Really a nice shave one of the most gentle edges I have shaved with and a big surprise.

This coticule has a good dish to it,but works pretty good the way it is.It darkens somewhat over time and lighter spots can be seen in the pic where I rubbed the slurry stone across the uneven top.I was hoping it was one of those rare stones but it's impossible to really know and no one seems to want to play the name the vein game...lol...I have used it a few times and the edges give a smooth shave with no cuts/weepers (so far). You can spit in a cup and trace your ancestors back to Adam but coticules are a forever mystery.
