Those Haida Gwaii stones are beautiful sir and the Russian rocket is some awesome steel. Here's a few finished up. Oxidation on blades was removed by greaseless buffing compound using a Baldor buffer..
One layer of tape used to bevel set on Chosera 1K. Refresh w/ 1 layer of tape on spine after bevel set and proceed through progression..
Using different grit slurries can provide desirable results. Care must be taken not to contaminate base stone.
Progressed through a series of Japanese naturals.
Final finish on one Peters (hatzicho) vintage light green thuringians. Snagged this one off SRP classified section. Pow zoom, MINE.
Shave test WTG & ATG positive. Mike * * * Halloween hones ready? * * *

Thanked: 1081I really enjoyed honing this Tahei, 1k Chosera, 5k superstone then full nagura progression on my Kiita.
It would have been a hell of a lot quicker with full synthetic but it was so much fun playing with the naguras.

Thanked: 237Well I'm getting ready for my movember shave. Honed up my Bruno wootz this evening. Ran into some chipping issues on the 1k, but was able to get that sorted out. The real star tonight is my new Ohira suita. Excellent speed and feedback. Finished on the maruka kiita. This razor is one of the few I've ever had silently and effortlessly tree top arm hair. No pops, no slight tugs, silently slices through, as if going through only air.

My first hone of last night/day post. PRC 8/8 blued Spanish point was honed backwards from 16k Shapton glass to be softened by my coti! This particular edge was very keen yet buttery smooth at the same time!
