Hollow ground shears are much like honing razors it turns out. Finished on a Nani 8k, then took the shears to Great Clips and had the stylist use my shears so that I could get professional feedback on how I did. She was very impressed and told the other stylist who was there how sharp they were. She used mine for most of the haircut then switched back to her $350 shears with swivel thumb hole.
NOW I know who to send my CMon shears to! (A bit dull!)

To-day I am about to check some nice old hardware variety razors for possible letter-opener wear!

A Winchester and a German from Balke, Suerth & Co of NYC on the 1K Chosera.

Agreed, Richard....Do you know when these were sold?

OH! Wiki says Winchester teamed-up with Simmons Hardware in the 20's to sell products with the Winchester name upon them.
Seems they called it off in 1929. Pretty old!

Thanks for sharing that information. Among my stash I have two Winchesters. I always like knowing when what I have was made which isn't always easy to find out.

Very nice looking stone there Tristan. I have a La Grise as well; a bit thinner, same color and texture. I like mine a lot. And, like you, I enjoy the results of its use.
