3 razors on the stones today. 2 up to the La Veinette coticule and 1 up to Naniwa 12k

A W&B Diamond Edge, just needing a little freshening up. A pile (probably a couple hundred) of water only laps, thoroughly spraying down every 30ish laps to get any loose grit from rolling around.

The W&B bow razor had to be brought down to a 2k due to some chipping, then 5k, 8k and finish on the coticule. I tried experimenting a little on this one and went with dilucot method, that I rarely succeed with, then water only laps. I started out with a medium/light slurry, adding water about every 20 laps. Water only laps followed same protocol as the diamond edge. Feeling pretty confident on this one.

Finally a Derby razor, went 2k thru 12k naniwa stones. This blade can be pretty unforgiving, hence this plain jane stone line up. Not totally satisfied with what I'm seeing in the loupe. Might have to bring it back a bit or I'm being overly perfectionist.

Some vintage stones must have been well loved to get a pearl inlaid box.Coticule with Gilchrist razor.

Dang it. Now I'm going to need to add "Gilchrist razor" into my saved searches on Ebay.

    That thing is cool!

Well good luck! Basically Wade and Butchers stamped for Gilchrist of Jersey City.
On my saved search list for several years. Only a few toothpicks and a faux-frameback have appeared......

Sounds like I shouldn't hold my breath.

Very cool grind. I believe I have seen a W&B in a similar grind, and maybe a Mappin but not much else.

    Speaking of honing...

I just touched up a W&B wedge and a Ralf Aust 6/8 the other day on my new Suehiro 20k.

I'd been struggling a bit with a few problem razors, so it sure is nice to hone up a few easy ones every so often. The wedge is such a great shaver as well, some razors are just a pleasure to shave with after a touch up session.
