The WB was a bit of a pain, mine had a slight frown just in front of the heel and a tiny warp as well, my guess is that is what caused the frown. Mine is about 7/8, I have a few more from various cutlers but they all need scale and or blade work.
I like your progression, I need one of those chosera 1k’s

Thanked: 13245Testing a couple of Coticules this cold North Idaho morning for a friend in Southern Idaho
I love testing different stones to see what is out there
French & Sheffield razors
The Bout is a "Dessante" and the 6x1 is a "Grise"
The first thing I had to do is lap in the Grise

My W&B has a bit of a warp as well, as do most of my older blades. It honed quickly, I'll see how it shaves tomorrow.
Speaking of warped blades, I had put aside a Tally Ho that I just couldn't set the bevel on. The other day I had some success with that warped Wostenholm by just focusing on making sure each part of the edge made contact with the stone, and I got a great shave out of it.
I just tried that with the Tally Ho, and I was finally able to set the bevel and get a shave from it. I had high hopes, it felt super sharp...
It definitely shaves, but it isn't the best edge I've put on a razor. 3 layers of tape and it still has a huge bevel as well. Time to put that one back aside until I learn something new to coax a better shave from it. At least I'm making progress!
I like my Choseras (1k and 3k) for sure and they are definitely efficient. I thought about the 5k, but for some reason I just like my regular Naniwa 5k.

FYI, the W&B gave a great shave.
I love that feeling during a shave test where your face is pretty much smooth after the first pass and you know that one won't need to go back to the stones anytime soon.

Still procrastinating here. Under a towel, out of mind. Tomorrow is a fine day to hone? Not likely for me.
Somebody Hone!

Sheesh, fine.
That Turner needs some 1k time (dig the bone scales), and right after the Kama (first razor I ever honed) needs a refresh.

There's a rough edge on that Turner with some micro chipping. There's a decent sized one right at the toe. Kinda weird looking, like a hook of unhoned material right at the tip of the toe.
I don't think this will require anything drastic, just a bit of patience on the 1k.
Maybe.

Sometimes...A bit of light rub on smooth glass gets a place to begin anew. Get the rough out?

I'm thinking about that. The chips are turning into more uneven spots, but the odd toe issue has me thinking about starting new and even across the edge.
