Thanked: 13245That was just one of the threads Christian
There were a couple more. I use it wet myself, I raise a light slurry with my DMT them take the Coticule Rubber and and sit there for a few minutes in the same spot with the objective of working that slurry in one spot and mashing the Holy Heck out of it, not making more slurry

Thanked: 351Thanks Glen, I was kind of curious about the whole thing. I did try it on a Belgisher Brocken hone I have here... but I used it dry and it just didn't seem right. I take it "mashing the Holy Heck out of it" is some sort of technical term?
Regards

Utopian schooled me about this at a meet. My eyes got a big a saucers when he said it. Once he explained why, I saw the waste not want not mentality. And then I caught myself squeezing out my extra soap from my brush post shave and saving it. I guess we all have our ticks.
Jnats was so kind to have sent me a couple of stones to try. I have them, staring at them like a kid before Christmas. He is on a trip and I am waiting till he gets back for further instructions on how to use them. Then I can try out a jnat and post more pictures. Dont ever mess with another mans hone. 3 different little cream rocks and a slab of green.Your only as good as your last hone job.

Moving my Christmas Day shaver to finish on Naniwa 12k. This Case wedge is virtually like brand-new.
Several back-hone strokes were needed throughout the progression. She wants to wire-edge ever so little.
Feather strokes! Gonna be good!
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 11That's pretty interesting. Why do you start with a dmt? Someone once mentioned that the garnets in coticules could frature when the slurry was created with a diamond hone. Is that what you are going for?
And after creating the "crushed slurry" do you finish on slurry or do you go to clean water?
