Sent this dorko across the stones for a guy. Went through a shapton progression 1k thru 8k, moved over to my big green brick just for a a full nagura progression and finished on shobidani tomo slurry , the edge has a wonderful kazumi finish and should shave like a dream! I also finished honing a king heart Columbia, went thru the same progressions as above and ended up with a awesome edge , will shave tomm with it but i have zero doubts its gonna blow me away

Henkotsu kamisori went across the stones last night, shapton 1k thru 5k, then went to the aiwiitani for a nagura progression, finished on some fresh cut tomo slurry that I'm currently testing , I'm just gonna call it mizu tomo for now. The edge looks stellar and was left with a stunning kazumi finish

Finished up the royal razor tonight! This gorgeous Japanese swedish steel gem took a wonderful looking edge with a near perfect kasumi finish. Went thru the shapton progression 1k thru 8k , moved to brick jnat for a nagura progression and then finish on some mizu tomo slurry. So far from my testing these tomos I cut are winners! More on that tomm when this puppy gets to fly through some whiskers!

I didn't know that! This is the first one I've seen in the wild steve, I figured it was a shiozawa cousin or something due to the marking on the tang near the heel I'm kinda curious about that

Finished up a mighty sharp looking razor today! A kikubushi Orion, my hopes are really high for this one! Went thru the same shapton progression 1k thru 8k, then to my brick jnat for a nagura work over! Under the loupe the edge looks flawless , will have results Sunday!

Kamisoris are just cool

Finally got round to fixing the edge on a razor I dropped before Xmas. Was my favourite shaver so been missing it. Is actually part of a 4 razor set so did another at the same time for a spare just in case. Chosera 1k, Naniwa SS 3,5,8,12, Gok 20k the a coticule I got with the razors. Were originally owned by a barber and the edge off the coticule is excellent.

Since I had stones out I did some knives too. Naniwa SS1k followed by black trans Ark. Victrinox knives are for the wife. Others are mine.

S Crookes & Son, full Ark progression
Got this razor finished with restoration last night and decided to do a full Ark progression. This was no easy task as this is possibly the hardest steel I have worked with in as long as I can remember. It was an easy 1500 laps, maybe 2K.

Started on an heirloom calico Washita
Moved to a Pike Nº 1 Washita, most versatile stone I own
Next a newly acquired Pike Lily White Washita
(Heavy on the Washitas in this progression)
Finished on a transluscent Norton HB 6 hard Ark
Can't wait for morning to test shave.
