These 2 have been the most difficult to get dialed in, especially the Red Imp 132. But after talking with @gssixgun, they both came out pretty good. Still a lot of room to improve, but I’m enjoying honing more and more each time.

Started both on my Shapton Ha No Kuromaku 1k to make sure I had a good bevel, then moved up to the same brand 5k to refine it a bit.

From there, took both to my Ozuku Mizu through the Asano Nagura progression. Finished off with some Tomo Nagura Extra I picked up from Maxim at JNS. I changed up how I finished this time though. Gssixgun recommended what he called “smashed slurry”, or honing a very light finishing slurry to damp and not diluting it. The edges came out extremely keen and smooth. Now I just have to get the edges better dialed in and find that sweet spot. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

Robeson Shuredge No 2547 with long haired lady scales and scalloped spine
    Full Ark progression
This steel is hard, hard, hard.
Started with calico soft since it is the most aggressive of my razor Arks.
Then spent the majority of the time on the Norton Pike No 1 washita. One side is finished coarse, the other side is burnished. Amazing how broad that stone's range is.
Bought it to finish on a Pike translucent slip stone.
Final touch on a Smith's XAB 4 black

Smith's Honing Solution diluted down to plain water and probably 800-1000 laps made for a crisp but comfortable shave

Finished this h. Diamond half hollow tonight. Sent it thru a shapton progression 1k thru 8k, preceding a nagura progression on the slabby jnat. Finished it all on shobu tomo slurry worked and diluted down until it clear water for a few feather touch laps. All of which left this edge whisker squeegee sharp and provided a effortless bbs shave!Name: Compress_20231018_220247_7767.jpg
