Gotten me out of some rough spots, like when a package has tape, or to peel an apple, open a plastic sealed thing that is fighting me.

The other is a cheap Schrade I picked up a few years back at the hardware store. Both about the same size, with a 2 1/4 inch blade. I figured I'd post here, and ask you guys. I know there's a lot of u guys with years of experience with these types of knives.

My budget is $100, a little more, or a little less is fine for me to spend. I have 2 that I've been looking at, and can't decide which I like more. I love everything about both.
    The two blades are,
The CRKT Ripple 2 in Stainless body
CRKT Ripple Knife | Folding Pocket Knives (Stainless Grey) | Ken Onion

    And the Benchmade mini Griptilian

Also, are there any other brands for me to look at, in this price point? All suggestions and comments are welcome.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I want to keep the blade size under 3". Thanks guys!
I have larger versions of both and don't think you can go wrong with either. Not sure where you're shopping, but I usually price (and often order) things from Blade HQ online. Good prices and good service.

Without remembering this post, i actually just received a Case Sodbuster Jr in the mail this morning. Black scaled (i think Delrin?) one with the sodbuster etching on the blade.

as much as i really like that TBS Boar, i cant bring myself to carry it, it does meet EDC requirements for my country, but it just feels over sized for that purpose but man does it take a great edge.

I think as an EDC knife, it is an important consideration that you're going to use it and don't want to worry about a scratch or a dent. If can't use the knife because you're afraid to ruin the aesthetics, you're carrying the wrong knife.

Bruno speaks wisely. Also, the chances of misplacing or outright losing an EDC are great.
I am on my second Kershaw scallion. Love the thing, opens fast and the blade can withstand the rigors I put it through.
If I lose it, 35 bucks is not the end of the world.

I think to ruin the aesthetics of the boar i would need to give it an absolute beasting. It incredible durable, 2.5mm thick stainless
(for steel buffs 14C28N Sandvik Stainless Steel - Carbon 0.62%, Manganese 0.6%, Silicon 0.010% (max), Chromium 14%, Phosphorus 0.010 (max), Nitrogen 0.11% (HRC 57) )
and tbh im not worried about that, the knife is here to be used.
Its more about how the EDC laws in my country are, frankly they are unspecific and vague, my problem with it as an EDC is that it kinda feels like overkill, blade width of 9/10 in scandi ground as opposed to 6/10 in on the case. The case even looks more pocket friendly.

I usually carry an old Case Jack Knife or an Ulster single blade. Don't have much of a need except for the occasional box opening and staple pulling, but, as a gentleman knows, a pocket knife is a good thing to have on one's person.

I've got one of those, only the Krypto II I believe it's called, my second one, great little flipper and small enough that fits anywhere.
