    Hey Mate, welcome to SRP

    When I began "this journey" I found that a pre-shave oil helped compensate (a bit) for my lack of technique.
    A bottle of baby oil nearby is a good (and cheap !) part of my ritual.

    That said, a straight razor honed by a pro is a good investment first and foremost.

    Check out your area and find a razor club or a mentor who will help.
