Thanks guys ... Ummmmm picked up a Boker faux tortoise 6/8 Silver Steel, Dovo 6/8 CS Carre Grenadile and am waiting on the arrival of a Ralf Aust 6/8 full hollow round point with all the bells and whistles along with my first razor being a Ralf Aust 5/8 full hollow round point ... I'm a tad apprehensive in using square or Spanish points but really really want to buy them lol

If in doubt buy a couple less expensive vintage and try them out. That said you learn or you get bitten sp you tend to learn quickly. I have various types and can shave with them all but still prefer round points
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Great idea eddy79! Me thinks that I'll spend the day scouring this fantastic new aged medium called the world wide web for some more goodies lol ... At least razors are easier to hide from SWMBO than car parts lol

Easier to hide but you still need to get to the mail first. Of the 40 or so razors I have only one is new. For the price of 1 new razor I can get 3 or 4 vintage and get the thrill of the search and winning the bidding

G'day again fellow trend setters :-) ... Really dumb question .. Over the past week I thought that I'd use the Slant bar DE a few times with the same blades I always used (Perma Sharp Super) and left me rather raw, especially under my chin. I've never experienced this before ... Is it perhaps that I've been using straights exclusively the past few months and my skin has gotten used to it ? I also changed the blade in case it was a dud, still with the same result ... Anybody else experience this? Just to add that I performed my usual 3 pass shave ... WTG, ATG, XTG ... Cheers!

I only use cut-throats mate so I can't comment on DE blades, mate, however you gotta give a Spanish point a go - they are great - I love 'em
Hang on and enjoy the ride...

I think I will give them a go ... Yeah I missed my DE and boy was it a rough shave. Least I get sensational shaves out of my straights :-)
