    Pictures of Tim Tam tomorrow!

Spices or condiments like Marmite, Vegemite are used to cover up bad tastes. Spices/condiments are used more in hot climates where things spoil. If your meat or cheese is good you don't want or need anything on it!

I agree but... the farther you get from the equator the less spices are used in general.

I'm not interested in the equator let alone keeping up with the jones's. Just my own happy larder...and (burp) It's happy right now.

Doesn't matter what it is you put the vegemite on anyway, so long as it's bland, because it's just the transportation method for getting the yummy vegemite into you!

    Default grilled cheese

I used Vegemite on the ones made from processed cheese but not the Caerphilly Nut Brown Ale.

I can't believe I am saying this but I don't think I used enough Vegemite. Did the cheese mask it or am I liking it more as I use it?
